From Compiz
Compiz 0.5.2 released
We are happpy to announce the 0.5.2 release of compiz. Among countless optimizations and fixes it now offers better multi-screen support, a logging framework, improved plugin- and option-systems and the often demanded cube transparency. This release is scheduled with the initial release of compiz-fusion (0.5.2), the new community-driven project that is aimed at extending the compiz window manager.
New Forums
After continuous problems with the forum-software we decided to set up the new compiz-community forums earlier than expected. We apologize for the slightly inconsistent look of the forums. This is going to change soon.
New Server
As a part of the Compiz Team's continuing efforts to better-suit the needs of our users, the Compiz.org website, wiki, and forums have been moved to a better server. I'm sure a lot of you noticed the downtime (including errors), but now that's over with and everything is settled down.
What is Compiz?
Compiz is a compositing window manager that uses 3D graphics acceleration via OpenGL. It provides various new graphical effects and features on any desktop environment, including Gnome and KDE.
